well the a’s and giants both managed to lose in the first round, so there goes any bay area excitement in the postseason. that sucks… but gotta hand it to boston, they pulled it off quite nicely.

could have watched the A’s in a luxury suite too… oh well. i feel bad for the most hardcore A’s fan I know, tiffany, whose birthday it will be in two days. Happy Birthday! (knowing that I probably won’t post between now and then)

met up with former cs107 staff members and jerry tonight for dinner @ pluto’s. good food, hadn’t been there before despite hearing so much about it during the past few years. had a good sandwich, good conversation. it was nice seeing everyone again. talked a lot of google, a lot of SANS, and a lot of space stuff @ my company.

going in tomorrow for a steroid/cortisone injection in my back. the idea is that the steroid is given directly to the area of inflammation that it will stop it and the associated pain from all those nerves getting crunched. i hope it works as well as the steroid pills i took for 10 days. supposed to be a low risk procedure… but the last time i had a needle stuck in my back, it was for a spinal tap when i was a kid and that hurt like hell. anyway, its all supposed to take 3 hrs with time to checkin, get sedated, and get injected… mmm sedation.
