well a couple of weeks ago i was cleaning out my filing cabinet and ran across the first ever budget i put together for myself. i remember writing this up on a napkin while contemplating my housing situation in mountain view. here it is:

1000 - rent
150 - car insurance
50 - cell phone
50 - internet
100 - gas
150 - electricity/ water
30 - cable
400 - food
100 - clothes
30 - health insurance
20 - haircut
100 - toiletries/supplies/medicine
50 - health club
50 - reserve

funny thing is, my budget nowadays is less than the one i have outlined above. after all, i don’t need to spend $20 on a haircut anymore hehe.
