Projects

Here’s a brief overview of the types of projects I’ve worked on over the past 10 years. Still a work in progress to flush this out…

Stanford

HCI Research

SIBS – Shared Internet Backup System

Lockheed Martin Space Systems

Space Networking – Change satellite networking from circuit-switched approaches to packet-switched approaches by outfitting satellites with routers.

Airborne Laser – Put a frickin’ laser on a 747. Lockheed had the subcontract for all the beam and fire control systems and I worked on all the real time software for tuning a high energy laser to shoot down a missile.

Wireless Sensor Networks

Trusted Computing

Carnegie Mellon

P2PNA – In conjunction with Panasonic Research, I completed my Master’s degree practicum working on a very interesting problem. Collaborated with a team of researchers to further the IEEE Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) standard. The primary focus was on a subproject called Peer-to-Peer Nomadic Agents (P2PNA), in which artificial intelligence theories and the Java Agent Development (JADE) framework were used to implement smart home strategies that centered around networked consumer electronic devices (NCED). These devices were capable of providing context-aware follow-me, monitoring, security, and notification services depending upon available NCED’s in a person’s current location in a house.

Aplix

JBlend – Aplix’s key product, a Java Virtual Machine that has shipped with nearly every major OEM in the world and on over 530 million devices.

MIDP3

JSRs

Connected Home

Keetli

Set Top Box

Tablet

T-Mobile
